I have a lot more experience with audio engineering than video, and with editing than mixing. I was trying to go for a more heavily-processed sound on this given the original track. One way of doing that was varying the reverb in different parts of the song. Also using different types of reverb for different collections of voice parts (the solo vs the “shoe” for example). I don’t think there was any spot where I completely dropped out the reverb, but I did use automation to reduce the reverb effect from “wet” to “dry” in a few places.
In terms of the number of parts, I think each singer in the video had just one primary part in the background tracks, but there were some additional backup vocal lines that aren’t pictured (we call them “foofs”
