Beethoven Hallelujah - Virtual Ensign Symphony & Chorus

I will create a post in the How-To topic about how we did this!

I love the thoughtfulness of this: having a conductor facing the audience with a virtual background, having the performers in uniform/costume, arranging the singers into voice parts, panning individual voice parts as a section to create the feeling of spatial sound, etc!

Thanks @nathanielgranor ! Those were all very intentional choices to make it as much like one of our live performances as possible. I especially wanted the uniformity in apparel. Though not necessary, I think it gave a really good flavor to the video.

I agree, well done!

It’s not all metronomically lined up at all points, and I think it brings a lovely sense of human imperfection to the pieces. The sound is just lovely.

Nicely done! Those figures in the strings in the intro must have been challenging to line up. (I’ve conducted this piece, and it’s challenging even in live performance – doubly so in virtual space!)

I agree that the visuals on this are really lovely and give a much more “traditional” choral feel than many of these that we’ve seen over the past few months.
